This is a very powerful tool. It is heavier than a corded tool. Changing blades is very easy and the blade is held securely. When you insert a new blade, make sure you push it all the way up. It can hold the blade at an angle if you do not insert it correctly. I did spray the shaft and quide roller with silicone because it was squeeking. I really like the plastic shoe that keeps the base from scratching the wood. I had to use duct tape on my old saw. It is very easy to change the bevel without any tools. There are notches for the common bevel angles.
I have both Ridgid and Milwaukee. This is identical to the Ridgid, made by the same TTI. Good saw , not as good as my older Swiss made Bosch corded, and certainly not worth the added cost for the milwaukee. Buy the Ridgid if you can find it. I was able to buy an 8pc Ultimate Ridgid kit with this as a part of the set for $299. in 2008. All the tools and the batteries have a Lifetime Service Agreement.
