The electronic variable speed control (800 - 2,800 SPM) is engineered to maintain consistent speed throughout the cut for superior results. The motor is dynamically balanced for 40-percent less tool vibration and lower noise than competitive models. The 4350FCT has a 1-inch length of stroke, with a wood cutting capacity of 5-5/16 inches at 90° and a steel cutting capacity of 3/8 inches at 90°.
Ease-of-Use FeaturesEase-of-use features were also engineered into the 4350FCT. The saw weighs just 5.7 pounds, with an L.E.D. light to illuminate the cutting surface and a built-in dust blower to clear the line of cut for greater visibility. I think I've owned every make of Jig Saw at one time or another. My first one was a $3.00 jig saw from the Sears catalog many, many years ago as a youngster and through a progression of PC's, Skils. Hitachis, Bosches, DeWalts. (UGH) and more recently a Milwaukee w/led light. I've used it for two remodeling jobs and now the blades wont lock square. Needing one immediately, I opted for the Makita 4350 FCT. This is one fine saw. Fit and finish are perfect, the blade lock system is smooth and locks tight and square. The blower and LED light add to its complement of features. I drew lines on a piece of glossy laminate flooring (12.5mm thick) and without any effort, cut perfectly straight lines. I dont think there is a saw out there that can beat this one. The motor is made in Japan and the saw in England (so much for Chinese crap). You will never go wrong with this one (or a Bosch), but I have to give the Makita the edge.

I am a pro carpenter working in the commercial industry and have had many, many different saber saws. My new Makita 4350 is by far the best one. Cut out a sink hole through a laminate counter top like a hot knife on butter. Minimal vibration and very quiet, LED light is cool but the dust fan could be better. Thumbs up here.. and yes you get what you pay for.
