Customer Reviews

I bought this Bosch jigsaw from Lowe's for $99.00 when my cheap $25.00 generic died. I presumed buying an expensive jigsaw from Bosch would be more durable. I was wrong. The blade holding mechanism is fragile. After using it infrequently for about 6 weeks, the spring clamping mechanism no longer secure the blade confidently. Manually turning it tighter only works temporarily until the tool vibration loosen it again.
I explained the problem to the tool tech at Lowe's. As part of his examination of the tool, he tried to adjust the blake holding mechanism but can't as the mechanism has retreated deep into the tool's housing making it almost impossible to reach. When he finally reached it after squeezing his finger into the housing, he, too, found the blake clamping mechanism loose and weak. The entire frustrating experience is one more additional reason why this tool is garbage.
Having experienced the same aggravation as I had, the Lowe's tool tech gave me credit and allowed my trading to another tool. As to not take advantage of Lowe's excellent customer service, I purchased their top-of-the-line Bosch jigsaw, $135.00. After using it just twice, I found the blake holding mechanism to be superior and blade change easier than the $99 model.
Recommendation: avoid Bosch's cheap model. Buy the expensive model.

Unlike the others reviewing the saw, I've had no problems with mine. I've used it extensively for a week now and the blade mechanism is fine.
